Halloween Weekend

Sara, my good friend from Purdue, came out to visit this weekend! We were so excited to have her and had so much fun with her here! Since Taylor is a little too young to enjoy Halloween I'll just post some pictures from our weekend! One of our favorite things to do is go to the horse track (Turf Paradise) and since we had a new visitor we had to show her our hot spot! We didn't win big but we had a nice afternoon watching the races! I think Taylor enjoyed her first trip to the track! Thanks for coming to visit Sara!! We had so much fun!

I had to include this family picture we attempted with Copper...as you can see she was way more interested in giving Taylor kisses!

Baby Time and Pumpkin Carving!

We had a fun day today! Taylor and I went to Baby Time at the library with Grandma Moon. Taylor is in the "Itty Bitty Readers" program at the library and one of the requirements to get her prize is to attend Baby Time, so we decided to check it out today! We had a lot of fun with Grandma Moon's friend Pat who leads Baby Time! We got to sing songs and Pat read Jack and Jill to the group! Here are some pictures of us at Baby Time with Pat! Thanks for the fun morning Pat! I think we'll try and make it again next week!

When Derek got home from work we decided to carve our pumpkins. Unfortunately out here you have to wait until the last minute to carve pumpkins or they will rot really quick! I mentioned to Derek that on the Today show there was a man that was carving pumpkins using a power drill...well I guess like any man would, he thought it sounded like a great idea! As you can see Copper was a little unsure, she went and hid under the table! This year the holes in the pumpkin look A LOT better than when I have attempted with a knife in the past! I think the excitement was too much for Taylor, she wasn't happy watching on my lap so she spent most of the time on her Baby Einstein mat and then followed that up by falling asleep in her swing! We'll take some pictures out front tomorrow when she wakes up!

Pumpkin Patch...or lack there of!

Well, we ventured to the "pumpkin patch" today and being a Midwestern girl I was sorely disappointed! I was so excited to go with Great Grandma and Great Grandpa being in town, I even had Grandma and Grandpa Moon meet us out there! I had noticed this "pumpkin patch" that I had passed several times that I thought would be better than the parking lot pumpkin patches that make up the other alternative places to get pumpkins out here! I was very wrong! There was indeed a "pumpkin patch" where you could go pick your own...however there was not really a selection to choose from! Most of the pumpkins were very small or not ripe. We decided to purchase one small one because we felt bad for the place. We made the best of it and had fun though taking pictures with our tiny pumpkin and Taylor :) On the way home we stopped at one of the Catholic churches that we have purchased from in the past...they are at least normal sized pumpkins!

Since today was not real exciting I thought I would post an adorable picture of Derek and Taylor. This morning when she woke up I sat her down on the couch next to Derek and she was all smiles!

Great Grandma and Grandpa here for a visit!

Great Grandma and Grandpa Streets came out from Tennessee this week for a visit! Taylor has had a lot of fun getting to know her Great Grandparents and I think they are enjoying her too! We have gone on a walk and taken Great Grandma shopping! Great Grandma is also enjoying helping out feeding Taylor and rocking her to sleep! Copper has made her presence known to Great Grandpa, she follows him around begging for him to pet her! Tomorrow we are heading to the pumpkin patch, so hopefully there are lots of good pictures to share!

Taylor has started smiling in the last week or so...but more on her terms! Today I was able to keep kissing her neck and belly and get her to smile! I had a lot of fun keeping her smiling at me!

Finishing Taylor's Bedroom!

We have finally finished decorating Taylor's room! We started probably 3 months before she was born! Derek did such an amazing job with the paint and the chair rail! We have friends and family to thank for helping us too! Grandpa Moon helped Derek finish up the chair rail, Grandma Moon helped us with her comforter so we were able to hang it and gave us the star and moon stickers, and Grandpa Megan made Taylor a really neat wooden sign with her name, he even painted it to match our Safari theme! Thanks so much for all of your help!

Our friend Ashley Troyer and her son Caleb came over today to help me really finish up though! We had a really cute letter set that Dawn that I worked with at Dial got me for a shower present! (Thanks Dawn!) Ashley is the expert in putting up the lettering so she came today to help me...(ok I didn't do much...I just watched!) Anyways I feel like her room is complete and I am so excited, we love spending time in there! Thanks again Ashley for coming to help us! The picture is tough to see but the lettering says: "I see the moon and the moon sees me God bless the moon and God bless me."

Taylor and Caleb had a fun playing together in Taylor's crib! It was so sweet, Caleb kept grabbing Taylor's hand and holding it! It will be fun when they are able to actually play together!!

Taylor's first trip to Indiana!

I decided to brave the airports and take Taylor back to Indiana by myself to meet her Aunts and Uncles (and see Grandpa and Grandma Megan again). Derek was very worried about the two of us traveling alone but we did very well and Taylor was great on all of the flights! She got compliments from every person we sat next to on each flight! I am not thinking about doing it again anytime soon but I am so glad we did!

It was wonderful to see Taylor with Aunt Erin, Uncle Kordell, Aunt Lindsay, Uncle Chris and cousin Cole! We had so much fun spending time with all of them and appreciate everyone's help while we were back! Taylor loved being with all of her Aunts and Uncles!
The weather was so beatutiful while we were visiting. As you can tell Taylor had a GREAT time at the pumpkin patch! It was such a nice day and I really enjoyed watching Cole checking everything out!

We had so much fun while we were back and really appreciate all of Cole's help! He was such a good helper with giving Taylor her bath everyday and helping to pick out her outfits! We can't wait to come back in December when Derek can come with us too! Thanks everyone!!

Boiler Up and Bear Down!

Saturday was a big football day for us!

Saturday night we had the Kimels and Troyers over to watch the U of A game! I even got into the spirit and wore my red gear! Taylor was very excited to try out her new cheer outfit that was a present from the Troyers! We were hoping to get a picture of Caleb and Taylor together supporting their dad's favorite team, but Taylor got a little fussy before we could get the shot!

Taylor got pretty bored watching the game since U of A had no problem beating Washington!

Not that we had much to smile about during the Purdue game, but Taylor seemed to be enjoying the day! She has been getting so close to smiling, so I might just consider this her first! Maybe she was trying to tell us Purdue is her favorite team!
