My little helper

Taylor is insistent on helping in the kitchen. If she sees me starting to do something other than filling a cup with water she runs in and says " Cooking, Cooking", grabs a chair and pushes it over to the counters to "help" out. I have to say it is fun having her "help" and I enjoy the company, however, our kitchen is not very big so it does create a little bit of a challenge. Today I was getting ready to make some pizza dough and she came running in, grabbed an apron out of the pantry for me, runs over to her play kitchen, grabs an apron for herself and pulls up her trusty "helper chair"!

As you can see her activity today was a little more of licking the measuring spoons, which I would like to make sure anyone that is eating at my house knows I generally go through several sets of measuring spoons and cups because she is licking them...I don't reuse them after Taylor licks!

A bonus picture...I took this one this morning when Taylor was having her morning conversation with Derek. This picture says a lot to me....1. Mom I am busy talking to my daddy, please don't bother me! 2. I think I am WAY older than I am! and 3. I might have my hands full when she can actually start calling her friends! I am sensing a lot of attitude while she is on the phone!

Summer Vacation

We just returned from our summer trip to Indiana...and what a blast we had! Derek and I spent 4 days in Chicago while he was there for work (and me for play) and then 2 weeks at my parents on the lake! The pictures from my previous post are also from the trip...but here are a few more!

Lots of time spent with my sisters!

Lots of hugs for Cole and Taylor!

We even got a sneak peak at our newest family member! Baby Schrock! Erin was nice enough to let Linds and I come along to her ultrasound to see our newest niece or nephew! Congrats Erin and Kordell, we can't wait to meet Baby Schrock!!

We had such an amazing trip, it was very difficult to say goodbye! Thanks Mom and Dad for putting up with us for almost three weeks, we love you!

Happy Father's Day!

We had a nice day celebrating Derek today! Taylor, Grandma and I worked on making Derek a nice and cozy U of A Blanket...I am sure he will enjoy it in 6 months or so when it isn't WAY too hot to use it! Then we had lunch with Derek's family which was very yummy! I wish we had pictures from today to show, but my camera is having issues and had to be mailed back to Canon for repairs! So this will be a words only blog! Derek is such an amazing father to Taylor and husband to me, words can't even express how much we appreciate everything he does for us! We love you so much Derek!

I also want to say Happy Father's day to my Father-in-law Bob, thanks for all you do!

And of course Happy Father's Day to my dad, we love you so much and can't wait to spend time with you! We love you!

Slip N Slide

We were having Derek's family over for Sunday lunch and decided after having so much fun with the sprinklers to step it up a notch and get the girls something a little more fun! We tried out a funky sprinkler...we were slightly disappointed, so we gave the Slip N Slide a shot! We didn't teach the girls the correct way to use it yet, for now we just pull them down. It made for a lot of laughs and exercise for me and Alyssa! The crazy sprinkler is going back...the Slip N Slide gets to stay!

Swim Lessons

Today was Taylor's first swimming lesson. She is quite that fish at home in our pool...and absolutely loves real pools, so we were excited to see how she'd do! She was a little unsure at first because of the number of people in the pool, she warmed up quickly and was letting Derek dunk her under and trying to jump off the side!

Moon Waterpark

What do you do when it is over 100 degrees in Arizona and your child wants to play on her slide, but it is too hot out? Turn it into a water slide! Taylor was very adamant about playing on her slide today and didn't understand how hot it was, so turning on the sprinklers seemed like a great idea! It was a hit and I will admit...I also really enjoyed it!
